Your target move-in date is especially important because it helps Calm Waters understand the timing of your housing search.

Shared or Private Room?

If you are open to more than one room type, say so in your Housing Request.

For example, "Private room preferred, but shared room is acceptable" gives Calm Waters more information to work with than simply selecting one option without explaining your preference.

If you need a specific room type, you can state that as well.

Can I Apply Even If I Don't Know What Is Available?

Yes.

You do not need to know which property or room is available before submitting a Housing Request.

The purpose of the request is to tell Calm Waters where you want to live, when you need housing, and what type of housing you are looking for.

Calm Waters can then respond based on the housing information available at that time.

Does Calm Waters Accept Housing Requests Outside Detroit?

Calm Waters currently accepts housing requests and referral/navigation relationships across Michigan. Calm Waters-operated housing itself is location-specific, so submitting a request does not mean Calm Waters has a home in every Michigan city.

Your requested location helps determine what housing pathway may be appropriate.

What If Calm Waters Doesn't Have the Housing I Need?
